The 2017 Solar Eclipse presented my team with an opportunity to use a rare natural phenomenon as a marketing vehicle.

For the first time in almost a century, the United States was to see day momentarily turn to night as the moon covers the sun.
​
We identified this opportunity 8mths in advance using social listening and bookings data - allowing us to work with 48 Hotels (from 19 brands across 21 states) to host 'viewing events'.
​
This activation drove a spike in bookings, allowed us to implement revenue driving tactics on-property, and led to tons of high quality user-generated content.
